s-CRY-ed is an anime series from Japanese animation studio Sunrise.

The series is licensed by Bandai Entertainment. It premiered on Adult swim in May 2005.

Story

Twenty-two years ago a bizarre geological phenomenon in Kanagawa prefecture, Japan known as the "Great Uprising" left a handful of survivors with superhuman capabilities known as Alters. Now known as the "Lost Ground", the area is strictly policed by HOLY, an order which searches for and captures Native Alter users who live outside the Japanese government.

Kazuma is an Alter user who lives in the Lost Ground with his young friend Kanami. When he meets an agent of HOLY named Ryuho whose Alter power is on par with his, an epic rivalry begins which may overturn HOLY's tyrannical grip on the Lost Ground.
