Lupin III is an comedy-action anime series based on the manga by Monkey Punch.

Story

Lupin III, grandson of the legendary thief Arsène Lupin, is known throughout the world as a gentleman thief and the world's most wanted criminal. Together with ace gunman Daisuke Jigen, master swordsman Goemon Ishikawa XIII, and the beautiful but conniving bombshell Fujiko Mine, Lupin travels the world stealing priceless treasures and foiling the plans of other more dangerous criminals, all the while eluding Inspector Zenigata of Interpol, who has made it his life's mission to capture Lupin and put him behind bars.

The first twenty-seven episodes of the series Shin Lupin III, which ran in Japan from 1977 to 1980, were broadcast on [adult swim] from January 2003, with the exception of episode three, "To Be or Nazi Be".
